OHP Health Share CareOregon Mental Health Providers/Therapists with appointments available soon:
I’m Mary Clark. I work with queer and trans people who have Religious Trauma and/or are Relationship Anarchists (more about my work here). I grew up poor, and I believe that good mental health care should be accessible to everyone (including folks who are low-income), so I build and maintain this simple list of Oregon Mental Health providers/therapists who take OHP (Oregon Health Plan) Health Share CareOregon, and who have appointments available in the next few weeks.
If you live in the Portland Oregon area, in Multnomah/Clackamas/Washington county, and if your health insurance card says “Health Share” (not Trillium), then you almost certainly have “CareOregon” as your mental health care organization (check the bottom of your OHP card). All of the professionals on this page take OHP Health Share CareOregon, and all of them have openings in the next few weeks.
I created this list because a lot of folks told me they had called several offices, looking for a therapist, but everyone was full (even those who said they were “accepting new clients”). They said that they got tired and gave up. I don’t want people to give up! I keep in close contact with the therapists on this page. If their listing is still here, then they have told me within the last few weeks that they have openings in the near future. I remove them during times when their appointments are full.
If the “Mental Health & Substance” section at the bottom of your OHP card says “CareOregon”, then all of the folks on this page have appointments available for you! Scroll down and contact the one(s) you like.
Mental Health Professionals: If you take CareOregon and have openings within the next 3 weeks, and you’d like to be included on this list, please fill out my questionnaire here, and I’ll add you. We especially need prescribers and also folks who can provide appointments to discuss Gender Affirming Care letters.
Therapists are not always listed alphabetically. I rearrange the list every few weeks, to try to give everyone visibility. —Mary

Types of therapy offered: I work from an eclectic approach to integrate the best types of therapies for each unique client. Internal Family Systems is one commonly used to understand the dynamic of the client’s family system, and to utilize the strengths within the family for the family’s well-being. I utilize Solution-focused brief therapy for clients looking to find answers and solutions quickly, not be in therapy long-term, and to tackle future adversity in a sustainable way. Finally, I also utilize Cognitive-behavioral therapy, which allows us to explore negative thought patterns, and adjust thoughts to be less self-sabotaging, more positive, and to create habits that promote a healthier mindset.

Types of therapy offered: If you’ve ever felt like you don’t fit into society’s expectations—whether you’re queer, non-monogamous, neurodivergent, kinky, an artist, or just someone charting their own path—I understand. My practice is a space where you can show up exactly as you are, without judgment, and explore what it means to live your truth. Whether you’re navigating relationships, your identity, or any aspect of self-discovery, I’m here to support you in creating a life that feels liberating and fulfilling. While I am a white cisgender person who is temporarily able-bodied and minded, I care deeply about dismantling racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, classism, fat phobia, etc. I have had a lot of anti-racist and anti-oppression trainings and have worked with diverse kids and family--Latino immigrants, African American kids and families, Asian families, queer families, and lots of intersections between all of these identities.

About me and my work:
My work with all my clients starts with seeking to fully understand your experiences, values feelings and perspective. To me, having a trusting and positive relationship together is central to your healing and growth. After building that trust and understanding, we can then collaborate on your treatment plan. If you are looking for behavior and habit changes I might use frameworks such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) or Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT). And if we both feel you would benefit from going deeper and developing awareness of your emotions and process unresolved feelings, I would use a framework such as Psychodynamic Therapy.
I also want to address the way that oppressive systems are causing us harm, and ways that relationships in your life (past or present) may reinforce racism, transpphobia, ableism etc. Maybe your disability or neurodivergence is being dismissed or overlooked. Maybe you are experiencing barriers that are keeping you from the success or the comforts that you are longing for. Let's examine ways you can navigate these challenges that create successful outcomes for you.
My thoughts on working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks:
My experience as a school counselor provided numerous opportunities to support LGBTQIA2S+ kids and teens by fostering systems of care within their school communities, including peers, parents, and teachers. I facilitated support groups, worked one-on-one with individuals, and taught lessons on gender identity and sexual orientation. I also attended specialized trainings and collaborated with fellow educators to create more inclusive environments for Queer youth.
My thoughts on working with neurodivergent/neurodiverse clients:
As a neurodivergent person myself, I am comfortable working with adults and teens with ADHD and Autism. I have used Dialectice Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help individuals manage their ADHD symptoms effectively.
My thoughts on working with unhoused or inadequately housed clients:
I would be ok with just doing a phone session if a telehealth session is not available to you in the moment.
My thoughts on culturally-specific care:
I have worked with LGBTQ2SIA+ families (and belong to this group), Black and Latino immigrant families (and do not belong to this group).
My thoughts and expertise in other areas:
I am comfortable working with people of all sizes and know there can be health at any size. I am also versed in the issues of people doing non-monogamy, kink and sex work.
Here are my thoughts on my own identities:
I am a white cisgender woman who identifies as queer, non-monogamous in my own relationship style and part of the kink community. I am also Jewish and immigrated to the U.S. from Moldova at the age of 7. I love supporting immigrant kids and adults!

About me and my work:
I’m a gender therapist and in the Health Share system as a specialty care provider for folx who identify as trans/queer/lgbtq/ sexual minorities or questioning their gender or sexuality. I write letters for gender affirming care, and keep openings for folxs needing letters. I strive to be culturally competent and inclusive.
My thoughts on working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks:
I specialize working with LGBTQAI folx. I’m WPATH trained, and I’ve been writing letters for trans folx for 10+ years. I do not believe in gate keeping and I support trans, NB, and all gender and non gender identified folx in their journey to reach goals around gender congruency and affirmation.
My thoughts on working with unhoused folks:
I offer sessions via telehealth and telephone to help clients access their sessions more regularly. I’m understanding that folx don’t always have access to transportation or a stable internet connection. I am flexible, and will support my clients when they need work arounds to access their sessions.
My thoughts on working with neurodivergent/neurodiverse clients:
Many of my clients identify as ND. I have experience working with ADHD. I meet folx where they are at and take a client-centered approach in therapy.
My thoughts and expertise in other areas:
I welcome all sexual minorities, LGBTQAI folx, people who practice ENM, poly, or kink. I have experience working with many different backgrounds, especially Chicano/ Latinx and Black folx.

About me and my work:
My approach is integrative, creative, experiential, and expansive. Different from traditional talk therapies, our work together can take many forms. I may invite you into guided mindful awareness to explore your experiences from your whole self— thoughts, sensations, emotions, images, and more. To express and process what is found, we may use art media like drawing, painting, movement, drama, sculpting, collage, and more. Even when exploring the past or future, I orient to how you are in relationship to these experiences in the present. The end of sessions lend time for integrating, resourcing, and transitioning. I may offer practices or resources for between sessions, as so much of healing work truly takes place in the pattern shifts and practices of our daily lives.
Social change, creativity, and awareness practices are the realms where I find my deepest purpose, so it is crucial to me to remain in integrity in all of these through my work and life. I believe in and advocate for equitable access to pleasure, fulfillment, belonging, and connection for all.
My formal education includes a BA in Anthropology, an MS in Primatology, and a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Some of the therapeutic training lineages that inform my practice include: Hakomi methodology, Tamalpa’s Life-Art Process, expressive arts, embodied movement, nonviolent communication (NVC), Gestalt, and experiential trauma processing. Other lineages that inspire my worldview: Celtic mysticism, early somatics pioneers of Germany and eastern Europe, Kingian nonviolence, Buddhist principles and mindfulness practices.
My thoughts on working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks:
I am a queer, nonbinary, gender-expansive person and am in deep community with many who intersect with that part of my identity. I hold a lot of experience in working with gender expansive people and am glad to provide support to those who are seeking gender-affirming medical care, including surgical procedures. I prefer to work with those who do intend to continue therapy beyond receiving a letter of therapeutic support, as I do believe that support through these stages can better serve integration of each person's experience.
My thoughts on working with neurodivergent/neurodiverse clients:
I do not have specialized training in working with neurodivergent individuals, although most of my clients (and myself) do identify as such. I see each person as having their own individual 'neurotype', parts of which are patterns shared by others and parts of which take shape based on the person's experiences, attachment history, trauma, life conditions, and intersectional identity. My approach is quite adaptable to different neurotypes because it does not rely only on verbal processing (incorporating art, body movement, etc.).
My thoughts on culturally-specific care:
I am a member of queer community in Portland in a few realms. This part of my identity has both afforded me great opportunities for adaptive creativity and expression as well as an experience of not being seen, accepted, or safe by the majority of society. It is my aim to hold all identities and intersections of my clients as sacred and meaningful. My practice can be described as queer, even if not all of my clients are, just by the nature of how I approach queerness as a way of being, not only limited to sexual or gender identities.
My thoughts on working with unhoused or inadequately housed clients:
Unfortunately my approach isn't well supported by intermittent contact or expected inconsistencies. Because I focus on integration and processing via visual and somatic means, telephone sessions are not something I can sustain.
My thoughts in other areas:
I maintain a body and sex-positive practice, have experience in non-monogamy/relationship anarchy structures, and strive to always be aware of how my internalized race and social privilege may affect my views and behaviors. I believe everyone in their intersection of identities (ability, race, profession, body type, sexual or gender orientation, cultural background) has the right to equitable access to mental health care and that I will work with anyone with whom I feel in integrity at my level of competence and experience. I always aim to consider in a consultation where I may not be the right support for someone if their experience shows that they need more specialized support, and to remind them of their right to have that. I like to offer coordination of referrals to the best of my ability in that case.
Here are my thoughts on my own identities:
Identity is important. I’d love to share a bit about my own because it informs the work I offer and how we may intersect.
Some of my identities… white, nonbinary, queer, artist, parent, expressive embodiment therapist, and group facilitator. I value engaging in authentic connection, art of all kinds, music, humor, tea, play, and our natural world. Social change, creativity, and awareness practices are the realms where I find my deepest purpose, so it is crucial to me to remain in integrity in all of these through my work and life. I believe in and advocate for equitable access to pleasure, fulfillment, belonging, and connection for all.

As a person-centered therapist, I am deeply committed to affirming and supporting individuals within the LGBTQ+ community. The values inherent in person-centered therapy, such as acceptance, empathy, and unconditional positive regard, align perfectly with the principles of inclusivity and respect for diversity. I strive to create a safe and affirming space where individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions can explore their experiences, challenges, and aspirations without fear of judgment or discrimination. It is my belief that every person deserves to be seen, heard, and valued for who they are, and I am dedicated to fostering a therapeutic environment where everyone feels respected, understood, and empowered to embrace their authentic selves.
My thoughts on working with neurodivergent/neurodiverse clients:
As a person-centered therapist, I approach neurodivergent clients with deep respect, empathy, and a commitment to understanding their unique experiences. I believe that neurodiversity is a natural and valuable aspect of human variation, and I reject any pathologizing or stigmatizing of neurodivergent traits. Instead, I recognize the strengths and abilities that neurodivergent individuals bring to the table and seek to create a therapeutic environment that celebrates their differences. I am dedicated to fostering a nonjudgmental space where neurodivergent clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and goals at their own pace, free from societal expectations or pressures to conform. My goal is to empower neurodivergent clients to embrace their identities, navigate the challenges they may face, and cultivate a sense of self-acceptance and resilience.
My thoughts on culturally-specific care:
As a Brazilian immigrant and Portuguese speaker, I bring a unique cultural perspective and sensitivity to the Latino world to my therapeutic practice. I offer culturally specific care and services that are tailored to the needs and experiences of individuals from Brazilian and Latino backgrounds. Whether it's providing therapy in Portuguese, understanding the nuances of cultural beliefs and values, or addressing the challenges of acculturation and immigration, I strive to create a welcoming and inclusive space where clients feel understood, validated, and supported. My goal is to honor the diversity of cultural backgrounds and identities within the Latino community while offering culturally competent care that respects and celebrates each individual's unique experiences and perspectives.
My thoughts and expertise in other areas:
I welcome and embrace discussions on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to size/fat positivity, non-monogamy, kink, suicidal ideation, and sex work.
Here are my thoughts on my own identities:
I'm from Brazil, so the word "latina" holds value to me. It takes me to a world of colors, vibrance, warmth, family values, and a view that relationships are central to our lives.

About me and my work:
We all encounter challenges in life. Difficult emotions and experiences are normal; however, sometimes they can get in the way of living the life we want to live. They can make us feel like we have no control over our life or that the world is a scary and unpredictable place. These challenges can feel especially hard when we are still learning about ourselves and how we want to show up in the world. Growing up truly can suck, and it is especially difficult when we experience mental health challenges on top of this!
Often, we tell ourselves a story about who we are and how we exist in the world. Sometimes this story is not entirely accurate, or it holds painful beliefs about ourselves and the world around us. Your painful experiences, emotions, and beliefs do not define you as a person. We will work together to identify and navigate your painful beliefs and support you in feeling better about yourself and the life you live. This may mean you feel less anxious or depressed, rely on new and more effective strategies to cope with challenges, are more skilled at identifying emotions and physical sensations, or feel more connected to folks in your support network.
Therapy looks different for everyone! We’ll work together to figure out what you need. Often, my work with folks includes a mix of processing the existing challenges and building skills to find your path forward, even when you don’t know what it is right away.
I believe that you are the expert in your life and you already have many of the tools needed to succeed. I am here to support you in tapping into your own wisdom and autonomy while expanding your toolkit as needed!
I am generally described as a fun, empathetic, and blunt clinician. I practice direct and honest communication, while also maintaining kindness and respect. I prioritize validation and client empowerment.
My thoughts on working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks:
I am a member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and offer affirming care.
My thoughts on working with neurodivergent/neurodiverse clients:
While I do not have much experience working with neurodivergent folks, I am continually learning more and work from a non-pathologizing and affirming approach.
My thoughts on working with unhoused or inadequately housed clients:
I have experience working with unhoused folks and feel comfortable supporting this population. I will work collaboratively with clients to overcome barriers to accessing services.
My thoughts and expertise in other areas:
I am particularly interested in working with folks who are navigating grief/loss.
Here are my thoughts on my own identities:
I am a white, queer, cisgender woman. I am mindful of the immense privilege that I hold and frequently reflect on my own biases and blind spots; I believe that this is an ongoing process in the work. Additionally, I recognize that my own lived experience with mental health impacts my lens and direction in this work.

We will help cultivate the wisest parts of yourself, uncovering a foundation that will support you in your daily life and work outside of our sessions. We will work towards body-centered sessions, allowing the non-verbal awareness of your body to guide your growth and integration. All of my work is rooted in an awareness of systemic oppression, recognizing that many of our struggles and coping mechanisms are healthy adaptations to an unjust world. I believe that our individual healing is a part of the work of our collective liberation. While we work together with a focus on your well-being, we support the whole community's well-being, in turn. I work with individuals, relationships, and families of all structures. I am versed in the many forms of consensual non-monogamy.
My thoughts on working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks:
Many of my clients are a part of the queer community.
My thoughts on working with neurodivergent/neurodiverse clients:
I have many clients who are neurodivergent who find the work we do meaningful and effective at supporting them.
Here are my thoughts on my own identities:
I am queer, non-binary, and neurodivergent.

About me and my work:
I believe that therapy can reveal important insights into our adaptations to trauma and attachment patterns and can guide us to more open-hearted connection and empowerment in our relationships and lives. As a therapist, I utilize a body-centered lens that guides clients through mindful exploration of their experience to access the ways we hold thoughts, beliefs, and patterns. Through this work, we are able to move towards embodiment and choice to create lasting change.
My thoughts on working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks:
Working with LGBTQIA2S+ community is an area I specialize in as a member of this community. I have written letters for gender affirming care. I always ask and use preferred pronouns.

Types of therapy offered: Primarily, I view therapy through an existential humanistic lens. In essence, how can we walk together to figure out what makes your life worth living? Second, I am trained in EMDR and use it as a side-kick to existential therapy. It is helpful to have a tool to massage out the knots that are keeping you from moving fluidly through your relationships with yourself, others, and the world, and has been shows to reduce distress and trauma symptoms faster than traditional talk therapy. Last, I incorporate aspects of Internal Family Systems (IFS) when doing 'parts work' seems like an appropriate way to map your internal experience, and Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) to guide relational work in twos, threes, and more.

Do you work with adults, or children, or both? Adults only

About me and my work:
Hi there! My name is Sophia (she/her) and I offer telehealth and in-person (office and walk-and-talk) therapy in SE Portland. To me, our relationship is the most important part of the process. You need to feel safe, secure, and loved for who you are right now in order to become curious enough to make transformation possible. That doesn't mean that it will feel easy, it will be hard work! But I'll be with you every step of the way—the presence next to you cheering you on.
My thoughts on working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks:
About half of the clients I have had the gift of working with are LGBTQIA+. I am a cis-woman, and do not hold that lightly in the power that affords me in society and the therapy space. It is terrifying to trust anyone new with the most vulnerable parts of yourself, let alone someone whose role has historically been connected to oppressing and denying life-saving care. So, this practice is dedicated to providing therapy that is respectful to your unique flavors of queering, and doing what is within my scope to support you in becoming your full, vibrant self. In addition to letter-writing, this can look like identity and sexuality exploration, unpacking your coming-of-age experience, managing insidious trauma (due to systemic oppression), religious trauma, processing your current relationships that are less-than-affirming, and grief work for the loss of close relationships.
My thoughts on working with neurodivergent/neurodiverse clients:
All neurotypes welcome and encouraged to blossom into their full brain-and-bodied selves! I have some experience working with folks who are self-diagnosed on the spectrum, and I’m neurodivergent, too (late-diagnosed ADHD), and am open about my own perks and challenges. My experience of being ADHD has informed my work on a profound level. Learning to creatively work with my brain and body has offered me a framework to work with neurodiverse communities from a strengths-based approach. Most of the people I have cared deeply about in my life have been neurodivergent in one form or another (OCD, Autism spectrum, ADHD, a variety of other forms like dyslexia, dyscalculia, auditory processing disorder, and so on), so bring your favorite fidget toys and wiggles (internal and external), your weighted blankets and yet-to-be-tidy thoughts, and let’s dissect your story on your terms.
My thoughts on working with unhoused or inadequately housed clients:
While I do not have experience working with unhoused people, we can explore how to best get you the care you need. If you are unable to make it to my office and do not have internet access, we can work together to find you access to technology and wifi in a secure location. If that fails, I may be able to help you find another therapist who is better able to meet your needs.
My thoughts on culturally-specific care:
Sex work: In addition to having some experience providing therapy to sex workers, some of my close relationships are with people who currently work in various forms of the sex industry. From these relationships, I have learned a lot about the distinct set of challenges and benefits of working in a societally-demonized trade, and that there is a huge lack of therapists who are aware of the nuances: it can be empowering AND disheartening, it can allow you freedom AND be a prison, it can be a choice AND out of need AND coerced, and some of these or none of these at the same time. Sex work is work, and just like any other job each person will have a different relationship to the role it plays in their life. Whether it is what you want to focus on in therapy or just another detail in your life, this aspect of your experience is welcome here.
Consensual non-monogamy: I use this as an umbrella term for anyone who queers their relationship orientation/structure: polyam, open, opening up, solo poly, RA, asymmetrical, commercially-nonmonogamous, monogamish, and so on. This may be the focus of therapy for you or maybe not. Whatever you are looking for, this is a space that is more concerned with the quality of your relationships beyond mere structure.
Kink: Whether you are wanting to incorporate more kink into your relationship(s), discover your own appetites, or are a seasoned vet that simply wants a therapist who won’t assume the worst, this is a space that will yum your yum.
My thoughts and expertise in other areas:
In a nutshell, I focus care on folks who are: LGBTQIA+, consensually non-monogamous, sex workers, neurodivergent, and kinky. Folks who do not share any of those identities are also welcome.
Here are my thoughts on my own identities:
I am a white, thin, currently able-bodied cis-woman whose first language is English and is currently middle class. These identities and statuses have afforded me an emulsion of unearned privilege due to multiple systems of oppression based in white supremacy. In therapy this means that I am constantly challenging how I engage with clients to level the playing field, and seek ways to leverage my privilege to advocate for clients, reduce barriers, and connect them to resources.
I identify as queer, find-the-spiritual-in-the-mundane, and my relationship orientation can be described as “relational autonomy” (i.e. relational ethics meets queer theory, ask me about it!). These identities have been developing over the past 11 years, wax and wane, and are informed by my ever-evolving attempts to decolonize my corner of the world.
I also grew up the oldest, middle, or youngest child (depending on the year) in a roller coaster of economic states in an undiagnosed neurodivergent, blended family that left the Mormon church right around the same time my birth parents divorced. What I’ve learned is that though my experiences are overtly dynamic, what is not unique to me is change. While change is inevitable for all of us, my identities and experiences have shaped how I approach life and therapy: we cannot avoid the tide, but we can learn to surf the wave.

Types of therapy offered: I provide Somatic work, Parts work/IFS, and attachment work all through a neurodivergent-affirming lens. Why? Well, deepening your mind-body connection is a huge part of being able to stay present for relationship dynamics that feel challenging. I engage in parts work as a non-pathologizing way to approach exploring your inner complexity and ambivalence/uncertainty. Attachment repair work is a quintessential part of creating consistently safe and loving adult relationships, so that's a major part of my work as well.

About me and my work:
I contain multitudes! I'm a white, fat, trans, invisibly disabled queerdo who works to undo white supremacy culture, yet went and got a Masters degree. I equally love musical theatre and WWII historical fiction. I grew up watching Scifi, and often wondered "How is it possible for the world to hold this much pain?"
There is so much of the human experience that fascinates me, and none more-so than how we choose, create, and maintain relationships. I believe that all of life's history and potential is in our physical bodies: we have our ancestor's inheritances (whether we want them or not) and we unfurl the possibilities future beings will inherit, as well. Seeing ourselves in this intergenerational lens is an essential part of how I work, and how I support my clients to understand themselves in their relationships today.
My thoughts on working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks:
I *only* treat LGBTQIA2S+ clients. Literally, straight folks have enough options.
My thoughts on working with unhoused folks:
Due to the nature of my telehealth services, I require clients to have private access to housing/protected spaces in order to furnish services.
My thoughts on working with neurodivergent/neurodiverse clients:
My couples work is fairly pragmatic, and tends to work well with couples who are Neuro-Spicy. I treat a lot of folks in the CPTSD/AuDHD dynamic, sometimes labeled the Pursue-Withdraw dynamic. So many ways to conceptualize this! and I really love this work.
In contrast, my individual therapy is more experiential, wandering, explorative. I work a lot with active imagination, exploring the inner landscape (imagery, body sensations) and cultivation of psychospiritual wellbeing through mindfulness and body awareness.Over time I've noticed that different folks respond really differently to this kind of work; it may not be a fit for everyone’s counseling goals. If you are curious about this aspect of my style, we can try a short demo in the Consultation to see if it feels like a match.
My thoughts and expertise in other areas:
Sex workers, kinksters, polyam/ENM dynamics are all welcome. I support clients navigating changes in ability, body size, expression of desire, neurotype/unmasking, and much more.
Here are my thoughts on my own identities:
I share extensively on my website about my approaches and intersections, including: being HIV+; body-mind connection as a fat/disabled person; my approach to belonging/spiritual healing, and much more!

About me and my work:
My approach is collaborative, warm, gently challenging and validating. I believe that we all have the innate ability to heal, grow, and break patterns, but sometimes we need support in gathering more tools to be able to do so.
I utilize tools from psychodynamic, emotion focused, somatic and attachment based lenses. I work with clients who are suffering from anxiety and depression, who are experiencing PTSD or are looking to process and heal from trauma. I also work with individuals who are struggling with their self esteem and self image. Supporting young adults through life transitions is something that I have experience with and deeply enjoy! I also enjoy working with people exploring anti-oppressive relationship structures that are queer, polyamorous, or kink friendly. While therapy will not solve systemic oppression, it is a place that we can examine our role in systems and how they impact our lives. I am committed to continually exploring my place in oppressive systems and how my identities interact with those of my clients.
I try my best to make therapy accessible to everyone through offering sliding scale options for those paying out of pocket. Please contact me by email or phone to set up a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we might be a good fit.
My thoughts on working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks:
I love working with folks from the LGBTQUI2S+ community. Most of my clients are LBTG folks. I have experience writing letters for gender affirming care and am happy to do so for my clients!
My thoughts on working with neurodivergent/neurodiverse clients:
Nuerodiversity is a huge spectrum, that encompasses so much! I work with a lot of people who fall on this spectrum. Most of us do not fit into the box that capitalism expects us to be able to function within, and leave so many of us struggling to function in the world.
My thoughts on working with unhoused or inadequately housed clients:
I am only offering telehealth appointments at this time and need folks to have access to a private space with wifi to participate in session.
My thoughts on culturally-specific care:
Love to work with disabled folks, I am HAES informed, supportive of people exploring anti-oppressive relationship structures that are queer, polyamorous, or kink friendly.

Types of therapy offered: I work with clients through the lens of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an evidence-based approach to counseling that teaches clients how to make room for uncomfortable thoughts, feelings, memories, and sensations in order to reduce psychological suffering. The approach centers clients’ values and encourages them to take committed action toward building the life they want to live, being the person they wish to be. I also draw from more traditional models of psychotherapy like Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and prolonged exposure, especially for clients living with post-traumatic stress disorder and obsessive compulsive disorders.

About me and my work:
I am trained as a clinical social worker and received my master of social work degree in 2018. In 2021 I was fully licensed as an independent clinician after several years of supervised practice. I specialize in treating stress and anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, PTSD, and insomnia. I have training working specifically with caregivers, elders, and people with chronic and serious illness. I have worked professionally with transitional, middle, and older-aged adults in both hospital and outpatient settings.
My thoughts on working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks:
As a queer person and accomplice to the queer community for over 12 years, I feel well positioned to support other queer and trans folks in a respectful and competent manner. People with marginalized gender identities, especially trans and non-binary folks, face growing stigma and discrimination in our society in a time in which others in the community, cis folks like myself, are enjoying greater acceptance and expanded civil rights. We’ve seen this marginalization result in intensified psychological burdens that rise from real fears about bodily autonomy, personal safety, and belonging.
My thoughts on working with neurodivergent/neurodiverse clients:
I’m very comfortable working with folks on the ADHD spectrum and can offer them a more traditional cognitive-behavioral approach to foster greater independence and relief from the aspects of their disorder that cause them suffering.
My thoughts on working with unhoused or inadequately housed clients:
Prior to transitioning to private practice, I worked with the unhoused community in hospital and on the street with a health outreach program. Unhoused folks have taught me that person-centered care and the quality of the therapeutic relationship are what drive the change process. I have also learned that many unhoused people desire structure, accountability, and simply someone willing to believe in them and that prioritizing these concerns often leads to positive outcomes. For folks for whom houselessness creates barriers to accessing care, I am happy to modify my approach in order that they receive the mental health care they deserve.
My thoughts on culturally-specific care:
I have spent nearly a decade working with older adults in social services settings and have come to understand the unique challenges of aging and its impacts on mental health. I have a personal history of religious trauma and spiritual abuse and am pleased to serve people who have come from similar backgrounds.
Here are my thoughts on my own identities:
I’m a cis-queer, white gay man in long term recovery.

Types of therapy offered: I have a person-centered, direct, strengths-based approach and tend to blend several modalities! I often incorporate somatic therapy techniques, Gestalt therapy, and parts of self work to help clients foster a deeper mind-body connection, as our lived experiences can hold associated emotional + behavioral responses within the body. From an attachment-focused lens, I guide clients in understanding how earlier relationships influence their current emotional regulation and interpersonal dynamics. I also believe in examining and reframing maladaptive habits, thoughts, and beliefs through cognitive-behavioral therapy and solutions-focused therapy to address specific obstacles and move toward therapeutic goals. Types of therapy offered: I am formally trained in Restoration Therapy (RT). RT is a type of therapy that helps you understand and heal from emotional wounds that affect your relationships. It looks at how your early life experiences and relationships shape how you connect with others today. The goal is to help you uncover these patterns, work through any unresolved issues, and improve your relationships by building stronger, healthier connections. It’s like going back to the roots of your emotional experiences and finding ways to restore and enhance your relationships with others. I also use techniques Gottman Method, CBT, ACT, ERP, and EFT.

About me and my work:
I believe that everyone has the ability to heal and transform; my job is to help you tap into that. I'm not here to "fix" anyone — I'm more like your guide, holding up a mirror so you can see the strength and wisdom you already have. I am formally trained in Restoration Therapy which helps you get to the heart of emotional wounds and understand how past experiences, especially around attachment, impact how you connect with others today. I also mix in techniques from CBT to tackle unhelpful thinking, ACT for embracing your values, and even ERP when it’s time to face down anxiety and OCD directly.
When it comes to couples work, I utilize Restoration Therapy and pull from Gottman Theory to help you build better understanding and connection with your partner. At the core of everything I do is a Person-Centered approach. I’m here to listen and provide a space where you can safely explore what’s going on, without any judgment. We’ll work together in a way that feels right for you.
My thoughts on working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks:
I have a strong commitment to providing respectful and affirming care. I am very comfortable working with LGBTQIA2S+ clients and strive to create a supportive and inclusive space for everyone. My goal is to ensure that you feel seen, heard, and validated in our work together. If you have any specific needs or concerns related to your identity, please let me know so I can best support you.
My thoughts on working with neurodivergent/neurodiverse clients:
My thoughts on working with neurodivergent or neurodiverse clients are grounded in a genuine respect for the different ways people experience and interact with the world. I am relatively comfortable working with neurodivergent clients and have a solid understanding of how neurodivergence can influence various aspects of life. While I don’t specialize exclusively in neurodivergence, I do have experience and basic knowledge in treating mild to moderate cases where neurodivergence is part of the presenting issue. I aim to provide supportive, individualized care and am always open to learning more about your unique experiences and needs. If there’s anything specific you’d like me to know or address, just let me know—I’m here to support you in the best way I can.
Here are my thoughts on my own identities:
I am a white, cis-gendered, able-bodied female, and I identify as straight. My background and experiences shape how I see the world and connect with others. I recognize that my perspective is influenced by these aspects of my identity, and I strive to approach each person’s experiences with openness and respect. Understanding my own lens helps me to be more empathetic and attentive to the diverse experiences and identities that clients bring into our work together. If there’s anything specific about my background that you think might impact our work, please feel free to ask.

Hi! My name is Daniel McClure, welcome to my profile, I am so glad you are here. I am a mental health therapist specializing in traditional talk therapy rooted in a relational approach. My counseling style is centered on building a deep connection with you, where warmth, compassion, empathy, and a non-judgmental stance define our therapeutic journey.

My own journey through mental health challenges—such as depression, anxiety, and addiction—shapes my practice profoundly. These personal experiences, coupled with the wisdom gained from countless clients I've had the honor to support, inform my therapeutic approach. Types of therapy offered:
My strength lies in supporting you to be more of who you want to be. I believe that all the answers are within you, and I integrate a variety of theories & models to fit your unique needs, comfort level, and sociocultural influences. This therapeutic core draws from:
-Strength-based approach -I assist you in building on strengths you already have.
-Solution-focused -This would be a concentrated series of sessions about a specific issue, goal, or a hurdle you are grappling with.
-Relational/Cultural Therapy -Our work would place you in the context of your influences, such as relationships and cultural background.
-Non-threatening Expressive Arts -For example, I might suggest you make a collage and we would use it as a point of discussion to shed light on your issues.
-Psychodynamic counseling, which recognizes the role of your early life experiences and the (often unconscious) impact they continue to have on your life as an adult.
-Group meeting series for Elder Lesbians
About me and my work:
Mended & Stronger: Respectful, Attentive Counseling Services
I enjoy working with adult individuals and groups who have concerns about relationships, intimacy, identity issues, life adjustments & changes, grief, bereavement, end-of-life, trauma, anxiety, depression, life’s meaning .... on through to aging and elder-hood.
Philosophy and Approach:
My therapy practice is called ‘Mended & Stronger'. This is a reference to kintsugi, the ancient art of mending broken pottery using material containing precious metals. A vessel repaired in this way was highly valued.
Philosophically, I see kintsugi as an honoring of the sundered, the incomplete, the subdued that lives within ourselves and within our world. Our faults, our mistakes, our regrets, our heartache, can be mended, and they need not be so hidden. They can even be treasured. Think of this for yourself: Our wounds and our healing make us stronger, just as the golden joinery on pottery. We can alchemize the gains from past experiences into the beauty that is Mended & Stronger.
My thoughts on working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks:
I’ve been an out Lesbian for 40+ years. There’s been a lot of evolution in our community, waves and waves of it. I respect & encourage all journeys! Since there are only so many hours in a day, I like to give back by providing space for Lesbians who feel most comfortable with a Lesbian therapist.
My thoughts on working with neurodivergent/neurodiverse clients:
I am curious, caring, and supportive. I believe neurodiversity has always been present, and has been overlooked particularly in females. Although I have not had formal training, I feel we could connect if you’re comfortable with the rest of what I offer.
My thoughts on working with unhoused or inadequately housed clients:
I provide services by Telehealth only, and require clients to be consistent with a schedule. These conditions probably are not a good fit if you are unhoused or inadequately housed.
My thoughts on culturally-specific care:
I can relate and witness, empathize and walk beside you. My lived experience as a woman, raised working class and experiencing poverty in adulthood, as someone outside of mainstream religion, as senior-aged in a youth-obsessed culture, as a Highly Sensitive Person in an emotionally fearful & shut-down world….
My thoughts and expertise in other areas:
I am educated in Attuned Eating and I support Health At Every Size. All relational issues are of high importance to everyone’s mental health, and I’ll say again, Although I do not have formal training in all issues, I feel we could collaborate well together if you’re drawn to the rest of what I offer.
Here are my thoughts on my own identities:
I identify as an Elder, a Lesbian, a Survivor. I am a White comrade who longs for liberation for all, currently investigating more about my Jewish and my Irish heritages.

About me and my work:
I'm here to help clients build an understanding around what may be causing them stress in their life, if that understanding is not already there. This can be in the form of helpful inight into thought and behavior patterns, diagnosis, family systems issues, etc. My goal is to help people build tools to be able to help themselves and for therapy to be a tool they can use episodically and not necessarily need forever. I mainly provide biweekly counseling sessions and I have a direct approach.
My thoughts on working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks:
I am very comfortable working with the LGBTQUIA2S+ community and have done so for much of my career. It is however not a specialty as it is for some other therapists so I understand if I am not the right fit for some clients. I do not have experience writing gender affirming surgery letters.
My thoughts on working with neurodivergent/neurodiverse clients:
About half of the people I see are neurodivergent/neurodiverse. I am very comfortable assessing and treating ADHD specifically.

Types of therapy offered: I use primarily a Gestalt and process oriented approach, which means I am listening to your language and the meaning that you make out of life. Together, we help bring unconscious beliefs, patterns, and habitual thought to the forefront to examine. This gives individuals and couples an increased awareness and an opportunity to make great change.

Do you currently have appointments available for Emotional Support Animal letters? No
About me and my work:
I specialize in working with clients who have big questions about life. Spiritual and existential quandaries welcome! I use a Gestalt and IFS framework that focuses on you becoming your own deepest resource. With couples I use this framework to peel back the layers of conflict to better understand each person's ground. The therapeutic goal is a stronger understanding of Self that brings a deeper connection to the experience of being alive.
My thoughts on working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks:
I am able to offer letters for gender affirming care, as well as therapy sessions to prepare for gender affirming surgeries or starting HRT.
My thoughts on working with neurodivergent/neurodiverse clients:
I have worked with neurodivergent clients regularly since starting my practicum in graduate school in 2021. My approach to working with neurodivergent clients is to gain a deep understanding of their ways of communicating and making meaning. This is much the same as the process I would undertake working with non neurodivergent clients with the caveat that there are more systemic challenges affecting these clients.
My thoughts on culturally-specific care:
I offer culturally specific care to members of the LGBTQIA community. My lived experience as a trans and queer man inform my approach. I also practice from a stance that no two lived experiences are the same. Often having a culturally competent counselor actually opens doors to discussing challenges other than identity as it may be easier to attain understanding and a sense of safety.
My thoughts and expertise in other areas:
I have been practicing meditation for 9 years. I use mindfulness based approaches to work with issues like anxiety, existential dread, isolation, and depression. I also enjoy working with clients who have experienced difficulty or ostracization from spiritual or religious communities.
Here are my thoughts on my own identities:
I am a white queer transman. The majority of my clients are queer and trans. My framework for therapeutic encounters involves a lot of consideration of identity and power. I like to use somatic tools with a trauma informed lens. I am passionate about making body-based practices feel more accessible and safe for queer individuals in therapy.
Therapists are not always listed alphabetically. I rearrange the list every few weeks, to try to give everyone visibility. —Mary

About me and my work:
My passion is to bring trauma-informed, embodied, and mindful approaches into the therapy space. I believe healing happens when we include the mind, body, and soul. I desire to provide a safe and sacred space where you are accepted and cared for, free to share your story and longings as we move together, towards the wellbeing you desire. Additionally, I offer neurodivergent affirming Autism assessments to adults looking for a formal evaluation and diagnosis. I work with clients to access your innate capacity to heal. Together, we can turn towards the parts of you that have longed for care and witness. If you are looking for therapy that moves beyond coping skills and worksheets, you’re in the right place.
My thoughts on working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks:
My practice is welcoming of all people, identities, and orientations. I prioritize creating a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their identities and experiences without fear of judgment or agenda. My approach involves not only understanding and respecting diverse sexual orientations and gender identities but also actively advocating for and affirming each individual's unique journey toward self-acceptance and well-being.
My thoughts on working with neurodivergent/neurodiverse clients:
As a neurodivergent affirming clinician and neurodivergent individual myself- it’s important to me to welcome the sensory needs and preferences of my clients. In my office, you will have multiple lighting, smell, seating, and tactile options available to you, as well as access to a small walking trail on the property if walking or outdoor sessions feel supportive. Sand Tray therapy is available as an alternative way to process and express as well. I see neurodivergence as natural variations of the human experience rather than deficits or disorders that need to be "fixed.” I honor this in individual counseling as well as the autism Assessment process with those seeking official diagnosis.

My thoughts on working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks:
I have a lot of experience working along side the LGBTQIA2S+ community in my practice. I don't pretend to know about your experience in the world. I strive to learn about your experience without forming preconceived thoughts and ideas about who you are or what you have experienced.
My thoughts on working with neurodivergent/neurodiverse clients:
Every person is valid and deserving of care simply because they are breathing. I work with anyone, and if I don't think I can be helpful I will help find someone who can.
My thoughts on working with unhoused or inadequately housed clients:
I have rules in my practice, but those are enforced with compassion and understanding that not everyone has the privilege to adhere to my practices. I recognize my own privilege and factor that into working with clients who were not born with the privileges I was.
My thoughts on culturally-specific care:
I don't claim to offer a specific treatment for culturally diverse. However, I am culturally aware and humble. Your experience in the world matters and will not be dismissed. Structural racism affects everything and everyone. This belief is taken into account when speaking with you, listening, writing treatment plans, and considering a diagnosis. I also am committed to holding other accountable to uphold cultural competency in this field and in my personal life.
My thoughts and expertise in other areas:
I am comfortable with any topic. Topics like sex, religion, money, and any other "taboo" topic are critical to address in my view. These are important aspects of being human and deserve space for discussion.
Here are my thoughts on my own identities:
Everyone, no matter their orientation or worldview, deserves care. Your whole self is welcome with me.

About me and my work:
At the foundation of my work is the belief each of us has an innate ability to move towards greater wholeness. My job is to create an environment of curiosity and bravery to facilitate this growth.
I hold a doctorate in clinical psychology from George Fox University. As a resident, I am completing hours toward licensure as a psychologist. I am a psychology resident working under the supervision of Shaun Davis, PsyD. Throughout my years of schooling and practicum experiences, I received training in areas including trauma-informed substance use treatment, neurodivergence, and mood related concerns (anxiety, depression, etc). I also have a passion for working with teens and young adults. In this vast field I am always seeking out new training and areas of interest!
My thoughts on working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks:
I have a lot of training working with folks across the gender and sexuality spectrum. I also have experience working with those who identify as polyamorous or participate in ethical non-monogamy. I come from a posture of curiosity and exploration. I have assisted in letter writing before, however, it is not a primary focus of my practice.
My thoughts on working with neurodivergent/neurodiverse clients:
I have a lot of experience working with adults with late diagnosis ADHD and Autism. I am also welcome to seeing teens who hold either or both of these diagnosis.
My thoughts on culturally-specific care:
I use an ecological framework that speaks to the layers of systems and identities that shape each of us and our interactions. I recognize these factors as ever changing and context dependent. The story of trauma, systemic discrimination, and disparity cannot be told without acknowledging the strength of each patient. From this perspective, the patient does not need my expertise to move towards wholeness. Rather, they can use my guidance as a tool in their resilience story. In this way, I hope to facilitate a relationship with each patient that exemplifies a “power with” approach, in contrast to a field that has been known to perpetuate a “power over” approach.

About me and my work:
Hi there! Starting your healing journey can be a daunting process, and you have already taken the tremendous first step of searching for a therapist. I strive to create a therapeutic space where you feel empowered to navigate concerns related to anxiety, depression, insomnia, trauma, life transitions, and identity issues. Additionally, I am a BIPOC and queer counselor and enjoy working with BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ clients.
To help you develop effective coping skills, we may use tools from CBT and solution-focused therapy. My thoughts on working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks:
I identify as a queer therapist and enjoy working with the LGBTQIA2S+ community. I strive to be as mindful and respectful to your lived experiences, identity, name, and pronouns. I am currently in the process of learning how to write letters for gender-affirming care. Although this is not currently a service I can offer, I will do my best to connect you with resources/individuals who can provide you this service if you are in immediate need of this support. I do not currently write letters for emotional support animals.
My thoughts on working with neurodivergent/neurodiverse clients:
While I would not currently consider myself an expert in neurodiversity, this is an area I am learning more about. Increasing my knowledge of neurodiversity includes seeking continuing education in and reviewing resources about neurodivergence and providing neurodivergent-affirming care. Additionally, I strive to have as inclusive of practice as possible, which includes using a person-centered, collaborative approach.
My thoughts on culturally-specific care:
I can offer culturally specific care to individuals who identify as BIPOC (particularly Asian American), second-generation immigrant, and/or LGBTQIA2S+ individuals. In addition to my lived experience as a second-generation, queer, Filipino-American, I also utilize a Relational-Cultural Framework to help conceptualize the impact of your relationships, significant life experiences, and important cultural forces on your identity and life journey. Finally, I strive to strengthen my use of cultural humility by seeking out and actively engaging in multiculturally-focused continuing education. I can only offer therapy in English.
My thoughts and expertise in other areas:
I enjoy supporting folks with insomnia concerns. In addition to being certified as a CBT-I clinician through Dr. Gregg Jacobs' CBT for Insomnia program, I have years of lived experience with insomnia.
Here are my thoughts on my own identities:
My positionality includes both points of privilege and points of oppression. My points of privilege include being a cis-gendered, thin, English-speaking, and hetero-normative-presenting man. My points of oppression include being BIPOC (Filipino), a second-generation immigrant, and queer (bisexual). Additionally, I strive to view the communities and individuals I interact with as well as myself through an ever-expanding lens of cultural-humility. I believe engaging in cultural-humility, understanding positionality, and appreciating the lived experiences of our own lives and the lives of others are lifelong processes requiring diligence, curiosity, non-judgment, and a beginner's mindset.

About me and my work:
No matter how much we try to be happy, sometimes life hits us with curveballs and we get knocked down. While it's a natural reaction to want to distract ourselves from this pain, often that only makes it worse. I'm here to offer a different path. Together we can process difficult emotions, befriend uncertainty, and find meaning amid life's greatest challenges. My approach is eclectic with an emphasis on psychodynamic techniques. I've also been a Buddhist practitioner for nearly a decade, and integrate meditation and Eastern philosophy into my work as appropriate.
While I work with a wide variety of folks coping with issues such a depression, anxiety, and trauma, I have specific training in supporting those impacted by serious illnesses. Issues I can help you navigate include: processing the loss of a loved one, adjustment to a new diagnosis, fear of cancer recurrence or progression, anxiety about medical procedures, contemplating existential concerns, and caregiver burnout.
My thoughts on working with LGBTQIA2S+ folks:
I welcome individuals across the LGBTQIA2S+ spectrum into my practice. I've provided gender-affirming care letters to my trans clients in the past, but only provide these letters to clients I have an established relationship with.
My thoughts on working with neurodivergent/neurodiverse clients:
While it is not my speciality, I've worked with many folks across the neurodivergent spectrum, and have experience working with ADHD as well as parents of autistic children.
